21 November 2025
1 month ago21 November 2025 I contacted this dealership about a 2015 Nissan Leaf Tekna in October 2025. It was reasonably priced for the age and mileage. It was for my daughter. The advert described that everything was in good order.
I rang and asked if there were any issues, or anything needing attention. The seller said that only the alloy wheels had lacquer peel (common on these wheels) and a small indent on the rear bumper. Both of these could be seen in the ad photos. Based on that assurance, we agreed a price over the phone. The dealership was a 3 hour drive from my home, so it was hard to view and decide. I relied on the seller to answer my questions about the condition of the car. I paid in advance.
I travelled to collect the car a few days later with my Wife on October 24th. It was just before closing time, it was raining. The seller had said the car was good to go. He seemed to be a decent enough guy and fellow EV driver. Paperwork was signed and I got in the car and drove away. It took a little while for the window condensation to clear up, but all seemed well and the car drove just fine.
A few minutes into the drive, with the heating on the condensation cleared and I spotted a pound coin sized "star" chip on the windscreen, just to the upper left of the direct line of sight of the driver. Once seen, I couldn't unsee it. The dealership had closed by this stage, but I wasn't going to return with the car over something I don't believe they were aware of.
I pulled into a charge station and confirmed the CHAdeMO charger was working. When I sat in the car to adjust the time on the infotainment screen, I found that the screen was not functioning. Only the left side responded to touch, so it was not useable. I sent a video message to the seller about the windscreen and infotainment screen and suggested perhaps they might help cover the cost of repair as a good-will gesture, as I had left the premises only an hour or so before and these were undisclosed/unnoticed issues. I checked the rest of the car and found 1 rear tyre was practically bald. I didn't send any further messages and didn't find other issues thankfully.
Overall, I am happy with the car, but I was disappointed that the seller hadn't replied to my message with a simple "sorry, we didn't know about those issues". It left a bit of a bad taste and I consider good customer service to be a priority in any business, certainly a smaller one.
I hadn't seen the issues because it was raining heavily on collection and the seller seemed genuine. I was left with the extra cost of correcting the problems. I don't think it's good practice to replace only 1 tyre unless the other front or back tyre is a recent replacement. I replaced all 4 tyres, getting a good deal for used OEM wheels from a newer model with good tyres, selling the other wheels to recoup some of the cost.
The car failed the NCT. Crack in windscreen (as expected) Leaking rear shock.
The owner called me today about the review and to discuss the issues. He was upset that I hadn't called him on the Monday, but I had left the video message on the Friday, which he had forgotten about over the weekend. I had waited a couple of weeks for a reply and didn't want to be chasing for acknowledgement, because I wasn't seeking compensation.
We shared our views and he asked what he would need to do for me to remove the 2 star review (that's how highly I value customer service). I told him I would not remove the review, but that he had already done what was needed for me to update and correct it, which was to acknowledge the issue and make contact. That is all I wanted. He insisted on sending me 100 toward the cost of repairs, which I initially declined as it wasn't necessary, but he wanted to, so I agreed and promised I would update the review as of 21/11/2025.
If he sends it, great, it covers the cost of new rear shocks. If not, i'm still happy that he rang about the issue and deserves honest, positive feedback. I would do business here again, albeit less rushed and in better weather. Thanks.

1 month ago8 November 2025 I contacted this dealership about a 2015 Nissan Leaf Tekna in October 2025. It was reasonably priced for the age and mileage. It was red, important, as it was ultimately for my daughter.
The dealership was a 3 hour drive from my home, making it less feasible and logistically challenging to view first. I relied on the seller to answer my questions about the condition of the car and anything needing attention. I paid a deposit and soon after the balance.
I travelled to collect the car a few days later with my Wife on October 24th. She had to head straight home in our car with the kids and I was to complete the transaction. On arrival, just before closing time, it was raining, but I didn't see any obvious issues and the seller had said the car was good to go.
I pulled into a Fast-Ned charge station and confirmed the CHAdeMO charger was working as expected.
Overall, I am happy with the car, but I was disappointed that the seller never even replied to my message with a simple "sorry, we didn't know about those issues".
It left a bit of a bad taste and and left me wondering if the issues were known prior to sale. Certainly the tyre had to have been noticed, it was very bald. I hadn't seen the issues because it was raining heavily on collection, but i'm left with the extra cost of correcting the problems that were not disclosed when asked.
I think 3 stars is fair and honest, as the car overall seems OK. I have yet to put the car through the NCT and I hope it's all in good shape. The battery read-out was very good and aesthetically it is in excellent shape, so I am optimistic. It was just the lack of care in fully checking the car before sale and not replying when I highlighted the issues so soon after buying....less than an hour later. I would have loved to give a 5 star review.
